When this thought first crossed my mind following a blissful sunday at a spa in London, I thought this must only be for the rich. By now you know my love for a budget trip surpasses my sensibilities. Anyway I was determined to find some that fit my pocket and sure enough I came up with a few that I cannot decide which…i’m leaning towards Iceland though. So first the choices…
Destination is everything and some…
I just found out about the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa(I know where have I been?). The spa is located in a lava field in Grindavík on the Reykjanes Peninsula, southwestern Iceland It is close to the Keflavik Airport and the capital city Reykjavik. A little history, In 1981 people started bathing in it after the discovery of its healing powers for psoriasis( although i have none of these). This place is a beauty and a threat plus it offers cheaper prices during the winter and flights to Iceland from England are cheap.
Its a country in Southeast Asia and has a lot of spa holiday locations and treatments to choose from. It is known for its hospitality and a lot of Spa holidays includes yoga and detox (thats a plus). This is a country for all, from luxury spas to budget spas, they cater for everyone. Although flights to Thailand is not as cheap as flying within europe its a trip worth taking.
No wonder the name… Bath has so much history and heritage. This place has natural hot springs which is mineral rich and dates back to 8000 BC. It has recently restored its spa, Thermae Bath Spa which they believe will “offer both residents and visitors a genuinely unique experience in the UK”. There are great packages to choose from, from a spa day to a spa weekend even a spa holiday. Bath is only about 2-3 hours from London and a must see.
If you thinking of a holiday, you should try one of these and let me know how it went, from visa application to flights and the whole experience! Lets get pampered, lets get travelling!
For travel to Iceland and Thailand, visas are needed and can be applied for before departure (for Nigerians). However, if you are in the UK, Bath is just a train ride away.
